The Russian Ministry of Defense: Ukrainian militants torture residents of Slovyansk for pro-Russian views

Ukrainian nationalists in Kharkiv, together with the Ukrainian military, equipped firing positions and deployed multiple launch rocket systems in the area of the Turboatom plant and a school, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Center for Defense Control of the Russian Federation, said.

In Kharkiv, in the vicinity of the Turboatom plant and secondary school No. 100, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and militants of nationalist formations equipped firing positions and deployed multiple launch rocket systems,”

Mizintsev said.

He added that in Slovyansk, territorial defense fighters are conducting punitive raids to check local residents for “any signs of pro-Russian views.”

The reason for the detention is the history of calls with Russian numbers found in the phones, SMS and messenger correspondence condemning the current regime, subscriptions in social networks to Russian channels and others,”

Mizintsev specified.

He said that the detainees were taken away to an unknown destination, subjected to brutal torture, threatened with transfer to the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as physical violence against relatives, including murder, gang rape of wives and daughters. In addition, the militants force such people to equip strongholds and roadblocks and extort bribes from 500 to 1,000 dollars for release from such work. Dozens of detainees never returned home, nothing is known about their fate so far.
